Basic Cardigan
A mistake has been found in the very beginning of this sweater. I am so sorry. The corrections have been made in red.
Made for dolls 1/12 scale
Materials:
2 strands light weight yarn or fingering yarn
Size 1 straight needles
Size 5 steel crochet hook
Seed beads (I use for buttons)
4 markers (I use safety pins)
PM= Place Marker (I use jewelry rings)
Instructions:
R1...CO 16sts and purl across
R2...(front) k2, inc, PM, (sleeves) inc in next 2sts, PM, (back) inc, k4, inc, PM, (sleeve) inc in next 2sts, PM, (front) inc, k2
R3...purl
R4...k to one st from marker, inc, SM, inc, across to one stitch past last marker, k to end.
Rep row 3 and 4 until you have 16 sts between sleeve markers
Next row… purl
Next row… k across front, place on holder, knit sleeve and back, place back sts on holder leaving the sleeve sts on needle, knit sleeve, place last front on holder.
Sleeves:
Attatch a second ball of yarn to second sleeve and knit both sleeves at the same time. You will be starting with purl row.
Reducing one st on each side ever other row until you have 8 sts, work to desired length.
Bind off.
Body:
Place all sts from holders onto needle. Purl across .
Continue in StSt until desired length and fasten off.
Front Bands:
(for women) Left Side of front…..With your crochet hook, evenly sc 17 sts along front , ch 1, turn
Next row…sc 1, *ch 1, skip 1, sc 2*, 5 times, sc last st.
(for women) Right Side of front…..With your crochet hook, sc 17 sts along front , ch 1, turn
Next row…sc one more row. Fasten off.
Note: For men, reverse band rows.
